Conference Theme: “Integrating Global Health Supply Chains for Sustainable Health Outcomes: Accelerated Innovation, Effective Partnerships, and Enhanced Local Ownership

Conference Purpose: The 9th Global Health Supply Chain Summit (GHSCS) was held over three days, November 16-18 2016, at the Dar Es Salaam Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  The summit focused on integration – bringing together the people, products and processes to maximize the impact of global health supply chains.  Participants heard about case studies, strategies, and frameworks for sustainability and partnership and innovation of global health supply chains from practitioners and academics discussed the importance of local ownership of health delivery systems that drew upon examples from both public sector and private sector applications. To explore these topics in depth, as in previous conferences, the summit assembled a collection of practitioners and experts in the field including academics, country planners, NGOs, logistics practitioners, pharmaceutical industry and donor representatives. We encouraged both English and French speaking presenters and participants at this event.
