Biography

Mr. Sowedi Muyingo is a Co-founder and Executive Director of Medical Access which strives to make supply chains more responsive to customer needs and improving access to public health commodities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, MBA’s in both Finance and Accounting and a Master’s degree in Public Health. He is an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and holds Executive Business training from Wharton, INSEAD and Harvard.

He has over 20 years’ experience in designing; implementing and evaluating Access; Humanitarian Relief; Logistics and Supply Chain management programs in Africa and Asia. He has worked for Novartis; Management Sciences for Health and Axios International in Pharmaceuticals, Management Consulting, Public Health and Supply Chain Management.

Before his current role, he served as a Vice President with Axios International, responsible for corporate strategy and operational leadership for Global Drug Donations and Access Programs. Also; he has supported the provision of Technical Assistance and Strategic Advice to a number of projects; clients and implementing HIV/AIDS and Oncology Access; supply chain and public health programs in Africa and Least Developed Countries funded by USAID; CDC; Global Fund and Private Sector. Sowedi also serves on various Boards of Regional and International Organizations.
