GHSCS-2025 is excited to partner with the East Africa Pharma & BioTech (EAPB) Conference at the same venue with joint programming on November 20. 

The EAPB Conference convenes stakeholders across industry, government, and research to accelerate Africa’s pharmaceutical and health product manufacturing. It fosters collaboration and drives investment toward resilient regional value chains—advancing local production, R&D capacity, and sustainable health security across the continent. *Registration fee WAIVER REQUESTS from those from Low & Lower Middle Income Countries will be considered but are not guaranteed. Please fill out this FORM to apply. A response will be sent after your application is reviewed. Do not start a registration if you intend to apply for a waiver.

SITE VISIT Information: November 17th

Optional site visits will take place beginning approximately at 9:00am on Monday, November 17th. Summit registration is required. Participation is limited and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be advised: Sign up instructions to indicate your interest in a site visit will be included in your registration confirmation email. Participation is limited and site sign up is virtually full as of 10/29. There will be a debrief session on Tuesday November 18 for anyone who attended and was unable to attend.

A. Rwanda National Health Intelligence Center (NHIC)

  • Description: Located in Kigali, NHIC was launched in April 2025 by the Ministry of Health to provide real-time health data analysis for evidence-based policymaking and system optimization in Rwanda. This state-of-the-art facility integrates data from various health systems, uses advanced analytics for disease surveillance and resource optimization, and aims to improve response to health challenges through data-driven insights.
  • Travel time approximately 20 minutes each way.

B. Rwanda Medical Supply (RMS)

  • Description: Visit to the Central warehouse of the Rwanda Medical Supply Ltd located in Kigali. A government owned company dedicated to ensuring the consistent availability of essential healthcare supplies across Rwanda. Their comprehensive supply chain management ensures that healthcare providers have the resources they need to deliver quality care to the Rwandan people.
  • Travel time is minimal.

C. TKMD Rwanda Factory 

  • Description: Established in partnership with the Gates Foundation, TKMD Rwanda began production in November 2024 and has since produced 22 million syringes.
  • Travel time to the factory in Bicumbi is estimated to be 1.5 hours each way.

D. Zipline Drone Operations Center

  • Description: Zipline’s operations in Rwanda include its distribution centers, referred to as “nests,” located in Muhanga and Kayonza. From these centers, Zipline uses drones to deliver medical supplies like blood, vaccines, and medications to hospitals and clinics across the country.
  • Site visit will be to Muhanga distribution center, estimated to be 1.5 hours each way.
