The Global Health Supply Chain Summit Group, in partnership with Chemonics International, is proud to have completed its 3rd annual Global Health Supply Chain Research Challenge.
This year we received a record-breaking 115 submissions! To be selected, all submissions received went through an independent review committee comprised of representatives from the Global Health Supply Chain Summit Group and Chemonics International, who co-sponsored the grant. The committee reviewed submissions against the established evaluation criteria and the finalists went through a rigorous panel interview to determine the winner. Thank you to all those who submitted proposals and we look forward to continued partnership with local stakeholders, academics, and supply chain experts around the world in 2024!
Congratulations to a group of investigators from Tanzania for being selected as the winning submission for the 2023 Global Health Supply Chain Research Challenge. The team, comprised of researchers from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, the Tanzania Medical Stores Department, and the University of Bradford, will assess the economic and environmental burden of pharmaceutical waste in Tanzania and explore approaches for improving sustainability of the supply chain. This research could provide a template for similar assessments across LMICs. Their research will be conducted over the next year and final results will be shared at the 2024 Global Health Supply Chain Summit.
